Introducing our new school

The Art Institute of Wisconsin is a branch of The Art Institute of Phoenix. We prepare students for careers in the visual and practical arts. Programs of study are carefully defined with the support and contributions of experienced members of the professional community. Curriculum is reviewed periodically to ensure it meets the needs of a changing marketplace. An impressive faculty of working professionals strives to strengthen students’ skills and cultivate their talents.

Milwaukee, the largest city in the state of Wisconsin, is located on the southwestern shore of Lake Michigan and serves as the county seat of Milwaukee County. Recognized for its large German population, breweries, and brewpubs, the city is home to numerous cultural, art, music, and food festivals, along with a wide range of museums, performing arts venues, gardens, and parks. Summerfest, held every late June through early July in Milwaukee, is considered the world’s largest music festival.

Milwaukee serves as the corporate headquarters for more than a dozen Fortune 1000 companies, and in 2009, five companies in the area were selected as leaders in their respective fields as part of Fortune magazine’s “World’s Most Admired Companies.” In 2010, the city was ranked by Forbes magazine as the fourth best in America for commuters. Perhaps best known as the setting for the Happy Days and Laverne and Shirley television shows in the 1970s and 1980s, Milwaukee is a fascinating mix of the traditional and contemporary for students seeking an education in the creative and applied arts.
