The Art Institutes International Minnesota Donates Time and Resources to Help Community

Minneapolis, MN – The Art Institutes International Minnesota, a commercial arts college in downtown Minneapolis, is working with two local non-profits during a National Week of Service that takes place April 19 - 24, 2009. They are joining more than 40 other Art Institutes schools in this week of service to their respective communities.  This year, The Art Institutes International Minnesota selected the Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery (http://www.crisisnursery.org/) and Second Harvest Heartland (http://www.2harvest.org/).

Throughout the week of April 19 – 24, 2009, The Art Institutes International Minnesota will sponsor a drive benefiting the Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery (GMCN). The GMCN works in partnership with parents in crisis and the community to strengthen families and to prevent child abuse and neglect. They have an urgent call for goods that helps the organization with its mission! The employees and students will be gathering clothes, underwear, and shoes for children ages infant to 12 years, pull-ups for toddlers and infant diapers, formula for infants.

Additionally, employees and students from The Art Institutes International Minnesota also have an opportunity to volunteer their time to help Second Harvest Heartland.  The volunteers will sort and repackage bulk food items, and label cans before the items get distributed to needy families.  This opportunity provides a employees a break from work while helping a worthy cause.
