Pam Boersig, Dean of Student Affairs at The Art Institutes International Minnesota, recently received peer recognition for her work in Student Affairs and received an award for “Outstanding Contribution to Minnesota Higher Education” at the Minnesota College Personnel Association (MCPA) fall conference on October 15 and 16, 2009.

Two MCPA colleagues nominated Pam for her leadership with the organization’s Careers in Student Affairs events.  The workshops began under her direction in 2007 and are an annual event for graduate students and new professionals.  In November 2009, MCPA will host the first annual Careers in Student Affairs event for undergraduate students.

According to Ann Garvey, Vice President for Student Affairs at Augsburg College, “Pam is a role model and mentor for young professionals entering the student affairs field.  She is outgoing, personable and makes others feel welcome.  She is very deserving of this award.”

Pam has worked in the student affairs/higher education field for over thirty years at various institutions including The University of Iowa, Bowling Green State University, and Adrian College.  She currently serves as the Dean of Student Affairs at The Art Institutes International Minnesota. Pam currently serves on the MCPA board as a senior advisor.

The Minnesota College Personnel Association (MCPA), a state division of the American College Personnel Association (ACPA), provides growth and development opportunities to student development/services professionals in all Minnesota institutions of higher education.  Originally established in 1969 with 83 members, the MCPA has grown to several hundred members.
