The International Culinary Schools Sponsor New Food Network Primetime Series - The Chef Jeff Project

   |Print

The International Culinary Schools at The Art Institutes announced today that it will be one of the presenting sponsors in a new Food Network reality series premiering this October, The Chef Jeff Project.

In The Chef Jeff Project, Chef Jeff Henderson takes the lessons learned from his inspiring journey and works to connect with six young adults (the "crew") who have gone down similar paths and now have a strong desire to improve their lives. Along the way, the crew is given the opportunity to remake themselves and succeed, including appearance, attitude, respect, motivation and behavior. As an additional incentive, each member of the crew who successfully completes the project will have the opportunity to receive scholarships from The International Culinary Schools at The Art Institutes to help them continue towards a culinary career.
The Chef Jeff Project premiers on Food Network on Sunday, October 12th at 10pm ET/PT.

"Chef Jeff's story is a testament to the power of determination, that if you set your mind to something and work hard to hone your skills, you are arming yourself with the tools needed to be successful. This is one of the many lessons that we try to impart to students during their time at one of The International Culinary Schools at The Art Institutes," said Chef Michael Nenes, Assistant Vice President of Culinary Arts for The International Culinary Schools at The Art Institutes.

The relationship with Food Network enables The International Culinary Schools at The Art Institutes to leverage the network's reach among an audience with specific interest in the culinary arts. In addition to a television campaign airing on Food Network and Fine Living, other components include:

-- Presenting sponsorship of The Chef Jeff Project.
-- A new advertising campaign featuring the stories of three Art
Institutes alumni who took three different paths toward establishing
their culinary success.  The ads are designed to highlight the common
ingredient in their journeys - a culinary education from The
International Culinary Schools at The Art Institutes.
-- For a second year, Food Network will support The Art Institutes Best
Teen Chef Competition 2009, which culminates in a cook-off competition
on May 9, 2009, at The Art Institute of Charlotte. The competition, in
its tenth year, awards more than $250,000 in tuition scholarships to
The Art Institutes schools to high school seniors interested in
pursuing a culinary arts education. This year, the winner will receive
a full-tuition scholarship to a participating Art Institutes location
and serve as an "intern for a day" at Food Network studios.  Highlights
of the national finals will air on Food Network and Fine Living.  For
