History
The Art Institute of New York City was founded in 1980. In 2003 the school became one of The Art Institutes, a system of over 40 locations across North America, providing an important source of design, media arts, culinary arts, fashion, and fine arts professionals to the marketplace.

The mission of The Art Institute of New York City is to provide career-focused education that meets the needs of the business community through an industry driven curriculum, subjected to continuous process review.
