TriBeCa Film Festival - (4/29/2008)
Once again, The Art Institute of New York City is actively involved in this world-class festival, principally in the area of Video Production.
Under the leadership of Project Manager/student Dan LaBarbera, and with the invaluable support of VP Chair Karen Dillon, ten of our students are filming virtually all events taking place during the festival.
Crew members sport (large) press credentials, and thus have access to all red carpet events. They are dressed in black collared shirts and hats with Art Institute logos. They film premiers, seminars, etc., and then edit the footage, providing it to TriBeCa officials as quickly as possible. This sometimes entails editing late into the night.
Footage is used on the Festival website, which will be linked to our site. In addition, this footage is often used by TV stations, especially WNBC, “proud sponsor of the TriBeCa Film Festival.”
Students gain valuable experience, not in just the real world, but in the world of international entertainment; the footage will be invaluable for their reels. Most students cite the opportunity to work with the festival as a highlight of their program.
