A Fashion Field Trip

Students from Sandra Shaffer's Fashion Show Production class visited the Metropolitan Museum of Art.  The students have been studying the work of designers like McQueen, Galiano and Chalayan.  The focus of discussion was how these designers are inspired by art and history in the design of their clothes and runway sets and show productions.  The gentleman who gave the class tour is a research associate for the Museum's Costume Institute.  This enriching exposure is another example of the value of studying Art & Design programs in New York City.
