Foundation Studies Art Show
Beginning on October 20, there was a unique showing in the gallery at The Art Institute of New York City.
Spearheaded by Graphic Design instructor Amy Sinclair, Phase 3-2-1 is an exhibition of student work made in the first three quarters of study. The show presents a selection of work from the foundation curriculum, including courses that are shared across majors.
The show included works by Graphic Design, Web Design & Interactive Media, and Interior Design students. The courses represented included Fundamentals of Design, Drawing and Perspective, Life Drawing and Illustration. In these classes, students are encouraged to explore a variety of approaches to traditional, modern and contemporary ways of seeing, conceptualizing and making art. All of the work produced in these courses was made by hand.
