World Science Fair

Three Video Production students under the direction of Department Chair Karen Dillon filmed various events around the city during the 2008 Inaugural World Science Festival.  The five day festival was created to make science understandable and exciting to everyone.

Officials in charge of the Fair became aware of Art Institute of New York City students because of their work with the TriBeCa Film Festival.  Once again, Video Production students worked as a team with Scholastic Kids Press Corps, elementary school-age-students who conducted the interviews while Art Institute of New York City students did the filming. Nohely Dejesus, Andre Rebuquio were videographers, and Kyle Johnson, was the still photographer.

The teams covered “Pioneers in Science” at the City University of New York Graduate Center, and “Invisible Reality: The Wonderful Weirdness of the Quantum World at NYU with Alan Alda and Brian Green.  The Fair has extensive corporate sponsorship, and will return next year.
