Test Driving College before the Real Thing

High school students from around the country got a taste of what it’s like to be a student at The Art Institute of New York City by attending Summer Studio.  This stimulating three-day workshop offers the opportunity to explore students’ interests in design, media arts or fashion through hands-on projects and interaction with industry professionals.  Students also learn about admission requirements and the process of applying for early acceptance to The Art Institute of New York City.

All day workshops and evening activities culminated in a wrap party and awards ceremony (parents invited).  The awards ceremony took place in the TriBeCa Gallery, part of TriBeCa Cinemas, well-known as the focal point of the TriBeCa Film Festival.  Students walked a red carpet on the way to their very own awards ceremony.

A big plus of Summer Studio is the fun of meeting and interacting with other creative teens from all over the country.

Workshops were conducted in these areas:

  • Graphic Design
  • Interior Design
  • Video Production
  • Fashion Design
  • Web Design & Interactive Media

According to attendee Cierra Halsey from Queens, New York, “Anyone thinking about going to Summer Studio at The Art Institute of New York City next year should definitely do it because it was a fun experience and I learned a lot.”
