The Art Institute of Washington – Northern Virginia Announces Grand Opening Celebration
Back
(STERLING, VA – October 22, 2009) The Art Institute of Washington – Northern Virginia, a branch of The Art Institute of Atlanta, will welcome the local community and government and business leaders on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at a grand opening celebration for the region’s newest higher education institution.
The event—which begins at 5:30pm—is aptly themed, “Where Creativity Takes Flight”, both for the school’s creative nature and its proximity to Dulles Airport and the National Air and Space Museum’s Stephen F. Udvar-Hazy Center. Attendees will be able to let their creativity literally take flight too, as part of a signature Art Institute “paint splash” that puts a fun, unique and very modern twist on the traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony.
“It is privilege for us to open our doors and share this special day with a local community that has been so supportive of the arts and us,” said Sam Ortiz, Campus Director of The Art Institute of Washington-Northern Virginia. “We are anxious to show-off our beautiful new facilities and to introduce ourselves, our students and teachers to our neighbors and leaders in the Northern Virginia area we look forward to serving for many years.”
