Student Development Coordinator/Intl. Student Advisor

The successful candidate will develop and implement programs and activities that support the needs, and foster the personal growth, of students. Specifically, this position will be responsible for Student Activities and Programs, Student Clubs, New Student Orientation, and Special Events. This includes advising the Student Activities Council and providing oversight to student clubs, as well as promoting community service opportunities, maintaining current community contacts and resources, and acting as liaison as needed. Other duties include international student services, with primary emphasis on maintaining school and enrolled students’ DHS compliance while simultaneously supporting the admissions effort to continue to enroll new international students. Working with the school’s Admissions and Academic Affairs departments, this individual will also complete ongoing auditing of new and continuing student files to maintain compliance with SEVIS requirements.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s in Student Personnel, Education, Counseling, or related field preferred) and a minimum 2 years’ experience developing and facilitating programs and activities at a post-secondary institution. Experience in student counseling or working with international student populations preferred. Experience advising student clubs and organizations, as well as overseeing new student orientation and mentorship programs is essential. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with exceptional interpersonal, customer service, communication and issue resolution skills. Strong computer, analytical and organizational skills required. We are seeking a motivated team player with effective leadership abilities, as well as the ability to perform well under pressure, manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. A solid grasp of student development issues in post-secondary education is required.
