Interior Design Program Work on Display at Dream Home Showcase

(February 13, 2012) – Interior Design Academic Director Ronni Whitman and Interior Design program students will be creating a special design space as part of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) “Dream Home” fundraiser benefiting the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

The best interior designers in the region are coming together to create a home that will be located in the South Coast Collection, a progressive shopping center in Orange County. Designers transform a massive storefront into a luxurious multi-generational and fully-accessible residence.

Whitman will be designing "the grandparents’ bathroom" and students are creating the “gift shop.”

When asked what inspired her to be a part of the ASID Dream Home project, Whitman replied “It's only a block away from The Art Institute of California—Orange County, and I really want the public to be aware that we are here, have a wonderful Bachelor of Science in Interior Design Degree Program and talented faculty and students.”

She added, “I also want my students to see that I can design as well as teach!”

The community is invited to tour the showcase, which will be held March 9-25.  Ticket costs range from $25-$50.  For more information, visit http://asiddreamhome.blogspot.com.
