Disability Services

The Art Institute of California—Orange County offers accommodations and support services to students with disabilities. The Student Affairs Department assists qualified students with disabilities in acquiring reasonable and appropriate accommodations and in supporting their success at The Art Institute of California—Orange County.

The Art Institute of California—Orange County is committed to providing qualified students with a disability an equal opportunity to access the benefits, rights, and privileges of college services, programs, and activities in compliance with The Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and State of California laws.

Students may be eligible to receive accommodations if they have a physical, mental or sensory impairment that substantially limits one or more of their major life activities.

Qualifying for Services

  • Students who believe they are in need of accommodations should contact the Student Affairs Department in order to seek assistance from the college.
  • Make an appointment with the School Counselor as soon as possible.
  • Present formal written documentation of your disability. A guide outlining documentation requirements may be obtained from the Student Affairs Department. Depending on the disability, professional documentation may be presented from a medical doctor, psychologist, psychiatrist, or other professional diagnostician. In order to ensure that your desired class start date and your accommodations are met, please notify the Student Affairs Department as early as possible.

These services are available to prospective as well as current students. For more information, please contact Laura Pinkham, Student Support & Disability Coordinator, at 714.830.0239 or
