Financial Aid Officer

If you're a team player with effective interpersonal, organizational and issue resolution skills, consider the opportunity to join our team as a financial aid officer.

The successful candidate will develop, negotiate and finalize student financial plans consistent with financial planning policies/procedures and Federal/State regulations for awarding aid. Working closely with new, continuing and re-entering students and their families, this individual will ensure that plans and re-plans meet everyone's needs. The incumbent will also counsel students on all acceptances and other financial plan matters.

Key job elements include working cohesively with Assistant Directors of Admissions to facilitate outstanding service. Other duties include maintaining 100% Planning Load, as well explaining plans to clarify student/parent rights and responsibilities for each aid source. Will also assist with FAFSA completion, assign budget to the student and award their aid, as well as ensure that aid is paid to student accounts in a timely manner. This position will also complete accurate files/paperwork, certify loan applications, and complete Basic Verification/QA and C Code Requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a related field and will possess knowledge of Federal, State or commercial loan packages and ability to comprehend and comply with federal and state laws, regulations and policies pertaining to student financial aid. Working experience with and technical knowledge of student financial aid programs is required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. Strong basic computer software (MS Office) skills are required.
