We are seeking a self-starter with proven inventory skills to assist with the receipt and issuance of food supplies in the store room. Responsibilities include assisting with managing receipt, check-in and issuance of Culinary Department food and controllable goods. This individual will also be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety and sanitation of the storeroom area, including maintaining proper food holding and refrigeration temperature control points. Key job elements include working within inventory and cost controls, monitoring storeroom inventories, maintaining stock levels and assisting in recommending goods to be ordered. This position will also coordinate and oversee the receipt of goods from vendors and track delivery schedules with purveyors.
The successful candidate will possess a high school diploma and 3-5 years relevant experience in related activities, preferably in a post-secondary institution. Must have solid understanding of hospitality organization operations. Ability to listen to customers and effective verbal and written communication skills are essential. Demonstrated knowledge of inventory management, successful operation in a foodservice establishment and experience contributing to budgets required. Must possess basic math skills and ability to concentrate amid multiple distractions. Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs and occasionally 75 lbs with assistance required.
