Industrial Design Shop

The 1200 square foot Industrial Design model shop is a well-equipped, staffed facility that is designed for product prototype fabrication and outfitted with a full range of tools and equipment for working in wood, plastics, and metals, including plastic forming and wood working machinery, metal machining equipment, paint booths, automotive clay ovens, casting room, sanding room, tool crib, and rapid prototype lab. These facilities are used to teach model-making skills, as well as provide the students with knowledge of the materials and processes used in industrial design. The shop also has CNC capability and a 3-D printer, capable of creating physical models from computer drawings.
