Facilities and Resources

The Art Institute of California — Orange County occupies approximately 55,000 square feet in The Art Institute building located at 3601 West Sunflower Avenue, Santa Ana, CA 92704. In addition to classrooms, studios, laboratories, offices, student lounge, a learning resource center, and an exhibition gallery, The Art Institute maintains an art supply store for the convenience of the students. The year-round average class size is 25 or less. Maximum class size is 30 students for laboratory sessions and 40 students for lecture courses.

Equipment provided is specific to the program of study. This includes but is not limited to projectors, editing decks, camcorders, WindowsNT and Macintosh computers, printers, and fully equipped kitchens. The Art Institute is not responsible for loss or damage of student property, including artwork or tapes.

Student Success Center
The Student Success Center exists to meet the needs of students who require additional academic support. Students have access to tutoring from faculty, as well as both Macintosh and PC-based computers with all available software installed. .... more

Professional Skills Kitchens
The Culinary Arts facility contains two laboratory kitchens, one baking & pastry kitchen and one public a la carte dining room/kitchen facility. These learning environments address the unique needs for the delivery of applied learning in a learner-centered environment. .... more

Graphic Design and Advertising Studio

The 1200 square foot Industrial Design model shop is a well-equipped, staffed facility that is designed for product prototype fabrication and outfitted with a full range of tools and equipment for working in wood, plastics and metals, including plastic forming and wood working machinery, metal machining equipment, paint booths, automotive clay ovens, casting room, sanding room, tool crib and rapid prototype lab. .... more

The Web Design & Interactive Media program operates a multimedia specialty lab that offers audio and video capture and editing capability.
