The Art Institute of Philadelphia proudly hosted an Opening Reception for the 2008 Alumni Art Show on Thursday, April 17 from 4-7pm. Eleven alumni, including graduates from the 1980s to 2007, exhibited a total of 36 pieces of artwork for the show.

This year the focus was on professional artwork, with the majority of submissions created for specific clients. Artwork on display included photography (including culinary photography), graphic design, greeting cards, posters and mixed media.

The Opening Reception attracted a crowd of over 100 and included alumni, faculty, staff, family and friends. Dr. Raymond Becker, Dean of Academic Affairs at The Art Institute of Philadelphia, made some remarks to those gathered in the 1610 Chestnut Street Gallery.

Guests enjoyed delicious treats created and served by the Culinary Arts program, and viewed the great art work to catch a glimpse of the professional careers of our alumni.

The 2008 Alumni Art Show was on display in the 1610 Chestnut Street Gallery at The Art Institute of Philadelphia from April 16 - June 16, 2008.
