According to the policies and procedures of The Art Institute of Philadelphia, Art Institute alumni may only use the school resources and facilities to improve their portfolio, write or revise their resume, or update their software skills *. Resources may not be used for the completion of freelance or paid work, and no equipment may be taken off-site. Alumni are not permitted to attend classes without being enrolled in a program.

To obtain permission to use facilities and/or equipment of The Art Institute of Philadelphia the following criteria must be met:

  1. Alumni must be in good standing with The Art Institute of Philadelphia which includes (a) Received a degree/diploma from this Institution, (b) be in current, good financial standing with the Institution.
  2. Alumni must have a valid Alumni ID (obtained thru Career Services/Alumni Coordinator)
  3. Contact Career Services/Alumni Coordinator to take initial step to discuss the proposed use of resources and/or facilities and fill out and submit a “Request for Usage” form for the approval process.
  4. Obtain permission specifying details about what facilities/resources alumni will be allowed to use and for what time period and sign policy from Alumni Coordinator upon approval.
  5. Check-in with security to obtain a day pass upon each visit to the school, show alumni ID and show approved, signed policy.

No alumni may use the facilities and/or equipment during weeks 4, 5, 10, and 11 due to midterms and finals, during quarter breaks, or in any conflict with normal operations of The Art Institute of Philadelphia. Additional weekends may be excluded for other reasons (Check with Alumni Coordinator for availability). Alumni who are approved to use the facilities may only use them on select Saturdays and Sundays. Currently enrolled students have priority to use of computer labs and facilities, and alumni will not be allowed to displace these currently enrolled students. Also, alumni may not bring guests in to use the facilities.

Alumni who are approved to use the facilities/equipment must sign the policy. By signing, they accept that they are a guest of The Art Institute of Philadelphia, and agree to abide by the policies and regulations of The Art Institute of Philadelphia. Alumni further agree to report any computer or equipment problems and agree to pay for any damages they cause.

Access to The Art Institute of Philadelphia’s facilities is a privilege granted to The Art Institute of Philadelphia’s students, alumni, faculty and staff. These guidelines are not meant to be exhaustive, and in exceptional circumstances, they may yield. The Art Institute of Philadelphia reserves the right to extend, limit, restrict, or deny privileges and access to its information resources at anytime and also reserves the right to change or revoke the policy in specific cases or globally at anytime without notice . If an approved alumnus acts in a disrespectful or disorderly manner, all privileges may be revoked and not reinstated. In the event access is allowed, the information accessed must not violate any license or contractual agreement, Art Institute of Philadelphia policy, or any federal, state, county, or local law or ordinance. Access to information and facilities resources without proper authorization and/or intentional corruption or misuse of information resources is a direct violation of The Art Institute’s standards for conduct, and may also bring civil or criminal charges against offenders.

Urgent Message from the Admissions Department at The Art Institute of Philadelphia

New Student Orientation at The Art Institute of Philadelphia will be held as scheduled on Saturday January 10 with breakfast available at 8:00 a.m. and the program starting at 9:00 a.m. Students who find it impossible to attend due to possible inclement weather should contact their Admissions Representative as soon as possible for further instructions.
