Debbie Mancini graduated from The Art Institute of Philadelphia in 2001 with an Associates Degree in Culinary Arts. In a short time, Debbie has worked hard to demonstrate excellence in her career.
As an Executive Chef for Sodexho at ACE Executive Dining, Debbie is responsible for coordinating and managing all aspects of food preparation. Juggling multiple tasks at a time, Debbie is highly motivated and works hard at maintaining a team atmosphere in the kitchen. Her daily activities include everything from menu preparation and staff management to purchasing and inventory. She even maintains the dining room reservation schedule and coordinates all private and individual dinners held at the facility. From food production to laying out catering events, Debbie surely is a leader in the culinary industry.
Debbie has not always been at the top of her field, and like most people, it took hard work to get where she is today. For several years, she worked in accounting and gained valuable experience working with receivable and supervising staff. As it turns out, Debbie’s managerial and business experience was put to good use in the culinary industry. Shortly after graduation, Debbie started as a sous chef at Sodexho, a Fortune 500 company. Her diverse skill set and hard work quickly earned her the position of Executive Chef in under one year.
Debbie has also made significant contributions to the community. She has established relationships with several charities for her company. She is also an active member of the American Culinary Federation. Never forgetting her roots, Debbie has worked hard at establishing an internship program for culinary students at Sodexho. Thanks to Debbie, several Art Institute students have been able to obtain positions in the culinary industry and gain valuable work experience. She has also returned to The Art Institute of Philadelphia for guest speaking engagements on several occasions.
Additionally, Debbie has been involved in several culinary competitions. Notably, she was the Silver Medal winner in a hot food competition and a Moët & Chandon scholarship recipient. While in school, Debbie was also recognized as a five time Best of Quarter winner.
Debbie’s incredible ability to excel in her profession, establish meaningful and rewarding programs, and give back to the community, all while raising a family of her own, demonstrates outstanding career achievement. We look forward to seeing Debbie continue along her path of career excellence.
