Michael Dougherty
Michael Dougherty

Michael Dougherty graduated from The Art Institute of Philadelphia in 1984 with an Associates Degree in Visual Communications. While in school, Michael discovered his love for illustration and airbrushing. As it turns out, his passion would turn his career into a great success.

After college, Michael moved to Cincinnati, Ohio where he began teaching at The College of Art Advertising. He soon developed an airbrush illustration class, A Course in Airbrush. The course has been a huge success and is the most widely attended instructional course on airbrush in the area. Michael has worked hard to provide his students with the same professional and technical insights that he learned while attending The Art Institute of Philadelphia.

In 1991, Michael opened his own art studio, Anything Airbrushed Plus, where he specializes in creating custom artwork for anyone, anything, for any occasion. His work has appeared in advertisements and publications throughout the country. His client list has grown considerably over the years and includes companies such as Procter & Gamble, Kroger Co, Hallmark, Bakery Crafts, Chancellor Media, Condor Books, and Western Publishing.

Anything Airbrushed Plus has boomed. Michael recently opened a shop in a second location inside of The Beach Waterpark and he is working to have their third Cincinnati location opening this October. Anything Airbrushed Plus now employs five full time artists and other part-time assistance. The company has become the tri-state (Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky) area's leading source for airbrushed artwork with projects ranging from commercial illustration to t-shirts to murals and even motorcycle tanks.

Importantly, Michael tells us to not let the name fool you. Airbrushing has come a long way since 1984, and more things than you could even imagine can be done with an airbrush. In Michael’s words, "be prepared to be impressed"… and we are!
