Thomas Sirkot
Thomas Sirkot

Prior to attending The Art Institute of Philadelphia, Thomas Sirkot was a resident designer for a community theater in his hometown of Hazleton, PA. His love of design spurred him to attend The Art Institute in order to perfect his skills and challenge his creativity.

While at the Art Institute, Thomas participated in school activities and assisted in fashion shows whenever possible. He also spoke at school events, introducing incoming students to the school and especially its fashion programs. His technical abilities as well as his professionalism resulted in an opportunity to teach the summer senior week course in basic sewing.

While at the Art Institute he was awarded the prestigious Presidential Scholarship as well as numerous Best of Quarter nominations. Thomas served as president of the Phuture Phasion Association during his last two quarters and graduated with a 4.0.

Thomas earned the Best of Fashion Show and Best Portfolio awards in his graduating class. Since graduating, Thomas has enjoyed a successful career as a costume designer. Initially designing for a Halloween manufacturer, Thomas eventually found himself working in the dance-wear industry. His knowledge of theater and dance have led him to open his own business, Drama In Motion Designs, where he designs for clients across the country. Thomas is often commissioned by renowned Philadelphia costume designers to bring their vision to life. Thomas enjoys the process of working with directors, choreographers, and designers. He feels that through it all you grow as a designer and continually learn through every new project and challenge that comes your way.
