2008 Juried Student Photography Show On Display Through September 12, 2008
Thirty-eight photographs by twenty-two upper-level photography students are on display in the 1610 Chestnut Street gallery as part of the 2008 Student Photography Show.
The photographs cover a wide range of subjects in a variety of styles. Amanda Holloway offers two glimpses of life in Egypt while Ben MacMaster provides depopulated industrial landscapes in three images from his "This Is Not a Town" series.
There is whimsy in Adam J. Balkovic's "I can't believe it's not butter" while Jessica Harp's "Through the Looking Glass" (pictured) has a somewhat sinister feel.
Taken as a whole, this collection of photographs provides a fantastic overview of the Photography program at The Art Institute of Philadelphia.
The following students have photographs on display as part of the show: Akuba Arthurton, Ashley Baker, Adam J. Balkovic, Lynda César, Catherine E. Colburn, Jessica Harp, Eileen Herrera, Amanda Holloway, Niesha C. Huff, Kathleen Kohler, Keeley Loy, Benjamin MacMaster, Jennifer Macauley, Dorothy Maier, Lovett McDavison, Susan Nam, Terry O. Nibbs, Felicia Perretti, Elmer Ramirez, Jr, Krishna Rodriguez, Megan Roulston, and Miranda Watson.
The exhibit will be on display through September 12, 2008.
