Scholarships and Competitions

A variety of scholarships are available to graduating high school students as well as continuing students through The Art Institute of Philadelphia. Please contact an Admissions representative for complete details and important application deadlines.

The Art Institutes High School Senior Scholarship Program
The Art Institutes High School Scholarship Competition at The Art Institute of Philadelphia offered over $345,000 in scholarships last year.

The scholarship is open to 2009 high school graduates who demonstrate ability in and commitment to one of The Art Institute's programs of study.

Passion For Fashion Competition
You know your passion for fashion will get people talking. So where will it take you? Enter The Art Institutes Passion for Fashion Competition and your designs or marketing concepts could be seen by fashion professionals in New York City. Your work could earn you a full-tuition scholarship to The Art Institutes, a "meet-and-greet" at Seventeen Magazine, and a trip to Fashion Week! More info...  

The Art Institutes Poster Design Competition
From the intimate confines of your bedroom to the hustle and bustle of the streets, posters are everywhere. They can communicate so many things - imagination, innovation, an idea, or an ideal. When you create a poster, not only are you informing the world, you're also crafting a piece of true art.

And by participating in The Art Institutes and Americans for the Arts Poster Design Competition, you just might earn a tuition scholarship to The Art Institutes location of your choice.

It all comes down to how you interpret the theme Life Is Better with Art In It. The medium and the message are up to you. What is important is that you get inspired - then inspire us with your original work.

This competition is open to high school students nearing graduation who plan to study graphic design. Qualifying students interested in other programs may also enter. More info... 

The Art Institutes Best Teen Chef Culinary Scholarship Competition
High school seniors may compete in The Art Institutes Culinary Scholarship Competition. Winners are awarded full- or partial-tuition scholarships to Art Institutes schools that offer a Culinary Arts program. C-CAP Careers Through Culinary Arts Program
Students who are enrolled in a C-CAP program may compete for a two-year full-tuition scholarship at The Art Institutes. The value of this scholarship is approximately $36,000. For information, speak to the C-CAP Director at your high school, visit www.ccapinc.org, or call 212.974.7111.

National Art Honor Society Scholarships
High school seniors who also belong to the National Art Honor Society may apply for The Art Institutes National Art Honor Society Scholarship. Details may be obtained by calling The Art Institutes location of your choice or 1.800.275.2440. More info...  

New York City Public Schools Scholarship
New York City public high school students may compete in the All-City Student Art Exhibit. The winner will receive a $25,000 tuition scholarship to The Art Institute of their choice. ProStart Invitational
First-place winners of the National ProStart Invitational Culinary Competition and Management Competition will be awarded a $3,000 tuition scholarship to The Art Institutes. A $2,000 tuition scholarship for second-place winners and $1,000 tuition scholarship for third place-winners will also be awarded. Applicants must be enrolled in a ProStart program to be eligible for competition. For more information, visit the ProStart Web site at www.nraef.org/prostart or call 1.800.765.2122. Skills USA Championship
Students who are members of SkillsUSA may compete in local, state and national championships. The winners of the national championships are awarded the following scholarships. Winners of the Advertising Design, Culinary and Photography championships will be awarded a $20,000 tuition scholarship. Winners of the 3-D Visualization and Animation, Web Design and Television Production championships will be awarded a $10,000 tuition scholarship.

Each Art Institute has a limited number of scholarships. Winners are permitted to choose The Art Institute location of their choice and scholarships will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. National championships are held in June 2007. EDMC Education Foundation Scholarship Fund

The Evelyn Keedy Memorial Scholarship
High school seniors who show dedication to their education and a desire for a creative career may apply for the Evelyn Keedy Memorial Scholarship through The Art Institutes. This is a $30,000 tuition scholarship. Details and applications may be obtained by contacting The Art Institute location of your choice or calling 1.800.275.2440. More info...

The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards
Four $10,000 scholarships will be awarded by The Art Institutes to the Scholastic National Award Recipients on a first-come, first-served basis. To receive information about this scholarship, visit the Scholastic Web site at www.artandwriting.org or call 212.343.6100.

National Award Recipients must contact Julie Walsh at The Art Institutes at 1.800.275.2440 as soon as they are notified of the award.

All scholarship winners must adhere to the scholarship rules established by The Art Institutes. Scholarship winners must apply to and be accepted at a location of The Art Institutes system of schools to validate the scholarship. Scholarships can be applied toward tuition only.
