The Art Institute of Phoenix is licensed, approved, and regulated by The Arizona State Board for Private Postsecondary Education. The Art Institute of Phoenix is a member of the Arizona Commission for Postsecondary Education and the Arizona Private School Association.

The Art Institute of Phoenix is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) to award bachelor's degrees, associate's degrees, and diplomas. The Associate of Applied Science in Culinary Arts degree program is accredited by the American Culinary Federation (ACF).
