The Art Institute of Phoenix to host fashion workshops

PHOENIX RUNWAY HIGH SCHOOL WORKSHOPS 2009
In its efforts to educate local communities and high school students on the fashion industry,
Phoenix Runway has partnered with The Art Institute of Phoenix to offer FREE fashion related
workshops. These workshops will range in a variety of disciplines within the fashion industry.

FASHION ILLUSTRATION / SKETCHING NOVEMBER 30, 2009*
Workshop Description: This workshop deals with the basic aspects of fashion drawing in relation to
the human figure. Through observation and application of the disciplines of line, form, and shape,
interpretation of the human figure enhances the basic foundation of drawing and rendering skills
necessary to illustrate the fashion figure.

FASHION PHOTOSHOOT DECEMBER 1, 2009*
Workshop Description: This workshop addresses technical and conceptual concepts in
relation to fashion photography. Students experiment with a variety of lighting techniques,
digital solutions, and conceptual approaches in order to create visually compelling fashion
photographs. The collaborative relationship between the art director, stylist, and photographer
is also explored.

FASHION “FLATS” MARKER RENDERING DECEMBER 2, 2009*
Workshop Description: This workshop deals with the basic aspects of color marker rendering
in relation to flat shapes or garments. Students will experiment with various marker-rendering
techniques to develop a series of realistic images related to the fashion industry.

Location: The Art Institute of Phoenix - 2233 West Dunlap Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona 85021

YOU MUST RESERVE YOUR SPOT TO PARTICIPATE IN THE WORKSHOPS. THERE IS NO WALK-IN AVAILABILITY. WORKSHOPS WILL BE FILLED ON FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED BASIS.
*Dates, times, and schedule subject to change and/or cancellation. Early reservation is
suggested as classes fill quickly, based on a first come first serve basis. These workshops to transfer into any program offered at The Art Institute of Phoenix.

The 2nd Annual Phoenix Runway, a charitable, designer fashion runway event, will be held on Friday and Saturday, December 4 & 5th, 2009 at the CityCenter of CITYNORTH.
