Admissions & Financial Aid
New World. New Opportunities.
The world is changing so quickly that today we have jobs
that didn't even have a name five years ago. Most people
can't imagine what career fields will open in the next five
years.
But you have your fingers on the pulse. You are the type
of person who is in touch with the fascinating world that
technology is opening up before our eyes. Even more important,
you recognize the impact you can have with your imagination
combined with technical skill.
At The Art Institute of Phoenix you'll learn how to use
program-specific technology to bring your creative dreams
to life. When you graduate, you will have the specialized
skills and competencies employers need. You will have a
degree that puts you in demand today, and prepares you for
the future.
We're Here to Help!
Teamwork is a key factor in helping you get started on your
new path at The Art Institute of Phoenix. You may be nervous
about going away to school, or be concerned about not being
good enough to compete. You may feel that you are too old
to start a new life path. Our Assistant Directors of Admissions
are professionals accustomed to assisting students to move
through the admissions process, helping to make it less
intimidating.
An Assistant Director of Admissions will probably be one
of the first people you will speak with at The Art Institute
of Phoenix. This person will meet with you to talk about
your future goals and help you set a path in motion that
will assist you in accomplishing your goals. Our Admissions
office will talk about the school and set up an appointment
to tour the school, giving you a first-hand look at the
educational environment.
We'll help you put aside your fears and focus on what it
will take to accomplish your education goals. If you decide
that one of our programs is right for you, we'll walk you
through the admissions process step by step (it's easier
than you think!).
Are You Ready to Reach for the Stars?
For admission to The Art Institute of Phoenix, you will
be evaluated on the basis of previous education, background,
and having demonstrated an interest in one of The Institute's
programs. Portfolios are encouraged but not required. You
will need to submit a completed high school transcript or
equivalent GED scores. You will also be asked to write a
150 word essay describing how you believe The Art Institute
of Phoenix can help you to achieve your goals.
If you want to be able to transfer previously earned credit
from another post-secondary institution, you must have an
original transcript sent from that institution.
To complete the admissions process, you will be asked to
complete an application which will be sent to The Art Institute
of Phoenix. Within
10 days, you will be asked to submit a completed enrollment
agreement. If you are a high
school junior, you may apply for admission during your junior
year.
We Care about Your Needs
New student orientation will help you make a smooth transition
with your educational experience. You are required to attend
orientation which can play an important role in your success
as a student. You can expect to see a multimedia presentation
about The Art Institutes family of schools, giving you a
broad picture of what student life is like at an Art Institute.
You will meet key people at the school, enjoy interactive
activities led by the Student Services department, and listen
to your Academic Director discuss the program you have enrolled
in. Your questions will be answered, you will make new friends,
and you will have made the first step on your new path as
a successful Art Institute of Phoenix student.
