Career Services

The Art Institute of Phoenix offers extensive career planning services to graduating students. The Career Services Department employs a staff of dedicated advisors who work with all students as they complete their educational programs.

Career Advisors continually work to increase employer awareness of the high caliber of students graduating from The Art Institute of Phoenix. Ongoing communication with new and existing employers helps to keep them current with the programs and pool of talented graduates available through The Art Institute of Phoenix. Career Advisors who generate job leads and match employer needs with graduate skills, in addition to graduates who take an active role in their own job search, help to account for the high percentage of Art Institute graduates employed in their fields throughout the country. Graduates may want to consider relocation after graduation to increase their job and salary opportunities.

Specific career advising occurs during the last two quarters of a student’s education. Interviewing techniques and résumé writing skills are developed, and students receive extensive portfolio advising from The Art Institute of Phoenix’s faculty in programs where portfolios are an integral part of the search for employment. Although The Art Institute of Phoenix offers no guarantee of employment, considerable effort is put forth to cultivate employment opportunities and match job leads with qualified graduates.

Part-time Employment
In addition to graduate services, the Student Employment Advisor helps students to find non-career related, part-time employment while they are attending school. Many employers work directly with The Art Institute of Phoenix to secure dependable part-time employees with stable class schedules. All students have access to a job board, which posts current part-time openings.

Additionally, The Art Institute of Phoenix offers freelance opportunities on a limited basis. Often, students gain valuable experience and portfolio pieces working for external clients while still in school.
