College Affiliate

The Junior Year exchange program for college affiliate students is designed to complement the training received at your home institution’s Art, Design, Culinary, and Media Departments. We build on these solid foundations with market-specific, employable skills, which are the hallmark of The Art Institute of Pittsburgh experience. Whether you elect the three or four-quarter option, technical training and the creative ability you bring from your home institution will be taken into consideration to build a customized course of study for you.

Because the curriculum at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh is marketplace driven, no matter what program you select, you can be certain the course content was developed in direct response to market needs and employer feedback. At The Art Institute of Pittsburgh, traditional design skills go hand in hand with industry-related technologies. We utilize curriculum technology and software that is utilized in the workplace, while continuing to emphasize the importance of traditional skills.

Meeting The Art Institute of Pittsburgh portfolio requirements (available in the fourth quarter) is optional and strongly recommended for those electing career assistance after graduation. No matter what you decide to do, you can be sure that, armed with your Art Institute education and experience and the skills obtained at your home institution, you’ll be better prepared to compete for positions in the art, design, culinary, and media industries.
