Hey, Moms and Dads,
The Art Institute of Pittsburgh encourages the creative development of young minds. We've established an e-gallery for kids to showcase their artwork. This exercise allows kids to explore creatively working with shapes, the fundamental essence of layout and graphic design.
1. Click here to open a page displaying a simple shape.
2. Print the page (either "landscape" or "portrait" are O.K.), and have your child complete the picture in whatever way he or she imagines. It does not matter which way your child turns the page to do his or her drawing. Use the provided shape as a springboard for a piece of art created using any medium (pencil, crayon, watercolor, marker, etc.)
3. Scan the completed picture, and send us an email with the digital image attached. Include the child's first name, age, grade, and state, in the email (we will not post the child's last name).
Please note: We can only accept children's artwork submitted in a digital format via email.
4. Email the drawing to: Kids' Corner (You may use this email address if you have any questions, too.)
5. Your child's piece will appear in The Art Institute Kids Gallery, located in the e-gallery on this web site. To access the Kids' Gallery now, click here.
