PITTSBURGH --- September 18, 2007 --- The Web Marketing Association (WMA) announced designations today for The 2007 WebAwards. Judges from over 27 countries selected The Art Institute of Pittsburgh as the highest ranked college or university site and awarded the college its prestigious WebAward.

The WMA received over 2400 entries from 40 countries for this year's competition. Winners in other industry categories include Toyota, Bank of America, Adobe, Blackberry, FedEx Air, Nautica, Home Depot, USA Network, Pixar and WIRED.com. The 2007 Overall Best of Show was awarded to the Walt Disney Internet Group for "Disney XD."

The Art Institute of Pittsburgh's site was designed by Sean O'Brien, under the creative direction of Norman Huelsman, both 2003 alumni. The site is developed and managed by Alexis Chontos, Webmaster and Carrie Butler, Director of Public Relations for the college, oversees the strategic direction of the site.

"We are proud of this professional recognition of our Web site," said George L. Pry, President of The Art Institute of Pittsburgh. "Many students come to The Art Institute specifically to learn how to create high-impact, strategic Web sites which makes the WebAward very important to us."
