Still, The Art Institute of Pittsburgh's historic impact on American culture is a story best told through the successes of more then 55,000 alumni. Graduates influence our daily lives as photojournalists for major metropolitan newspapers and interior designers for major firms and hotels and hospitals. They entertain us as animators on feature films, television shows, and video games. Art Institute of Pittsburgh Industrial Design graduates create the innovative new products we all want to buy, the cars we drive, and the children's toys we love. Video and digital media specialists bring us the news and tell the stories we watch every day. The advertising and graphic design industry is influenced by Art Institute graduates who create visual communications for agencies, corporations, and non-profit organizations all over the world.
The hallmark of The Art Institute has always been curriculum that evolves and responds to the employment marketplace, supported by industry-relevant technology. The school boasts 10 floors of fully networked computer labs and specialty facilities such as editing suites, digital photography labs, a television production studio, an industrial design machine shop, fully equipped culinary kitchens, a restaurant and more.
A staff of financial aid officers, job advisors, and counselors is committed to providing students with individualized service. Confidential counseling is available when academic or personal problems create roadblocks to success. Students are encouraged to join one of many school organizations or student professional chapters. A team of experienced career advisors works closely with graduating students to assist in an aggressive plan designed to help each student define and meet their individual career goals.
