Counseling Services
The Art Institute of Portland offers students resources for finding personal counseling support through the Student Assistance Program. Students experiencing school, job or life related stress, are encouraged to take advantage of this program especially if they are struggling with any of the issues below:

  • Alcohol and/or Drug use problems
  • Anger
  • Anxiety related issues
  • Balancing school/work/family demands
  • Budgeting
  • Depression or mood related concerns
  • Grief or loss issues
  • Relationship or Family Issues
  • Stress

 

The Student Assistance Program offers the following benefits for all currently enrolled students:

  • No cost, short term face-to-face counseling (up to 4 sessions)
  • Help with developing a budget and getting out of credit card debt
  • New parent transition coaching program
  • Targeted and qualified resource searches and referrals for many supportive services to balancing college/work/life

Students can also access these services by calling 1-800-326-6142, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Callers are connected to a trained and licensed professional counselor at no cost — close to their home or school — to help solve these problems.
