Gallery

The Gallery serves as a non-commercial exhibition space that reflects and exemplifies the artwork of professionals, faculty, students, and graduates in their professional fields. The goals of the Gallery are:

To inspire and challenge students through examples of accomplished artists and designers;
To enrich the learning community at The Art Institute of Portland through exhibitions that demonstrate high levels of excellence;
To provide opportunities to increase public awareness of The Art Institute of Portland and its importance in the art and design community; and
To expose the local community to relevant faculty, student, and professional work.

To be added to the mailing list for Gallery invitations, please send an email to Allena Baker, Director of Public Relations and Gallery Director, at aipdgallery@aii.edu. Please write "Gallery List" in the subject line.

Artists interested in showing in The Art Institute of Portland Gallery are invited to submit a proposal.

GALLERY PROPOSALS

The Art Institute of Portland Gallery is always interested in connecting with artists to discuss exhibit opportunities. We currently have openings for exhibits during the 2008 calendar year and beyond.

If you are interested in sending in a proposal to exhibit in The Art Institute of Portland Gallery, please submit the following:

cover letter introducing the artist (or artists) as well as a brief summary of why you want to exhibit in The Art Institute of Portland Gallery and how your work fits in with the mission of the college and/or the programs we offer here
10 - 20 slides or jpeg images on a CD, labeled properly (only work that will be exhibited should be included in the proposal)
detailed image list with titles, dimensions, year created, medium used
artist bio or resume

(Slides and CDs will be returned if you provide a self-addressed postage paid envelope along with your submission).
