The design concept for the poster was extraordinarily intriguing.
With a design following the original theme of "Life is better with a
rt in it", my mind and heart went out to discover the best possible
scheme for my work. The idea hit me with a bold bright light bulb
above my head: life. What I would do is use ideas of life through
my original characters and themes from pieces of artwork I had
created over the past year. My most obvious feature is the continuous
use concerning the idea of life. With that in mind, my first eye-catching
piece of work is a super villain for which I designed this current spring
semester. "Amp" is the name I bestowed upon my super villain. By bringing
this image into my design concept, I am allowing for my own creation of
life through my mind and pencil. This first image I brought into the poster
explains how, although there are bad things that happen in life, through art,
there can be created a super hero or even a super villain. My second piece,
with not much detail, was simply a piece that I created in a drawing class I
took. Third was a photograph I was able to take and use. I then took this
picture and manipulated that image in Photoshop CS. This image also played
into my continuous theme of life within the idea of life being better with
art. It allows for me to express how a simple photograph can be manipulated
into various expressions in a creative and fun manner. By viewing an everyday
image, such as a photograph with unique changes, people can enjoy life with a
twist and profound glory that is art. Then there is my final image; a compiled
piece of my creation that includes original photography and original modeling.
This image was created for the use of advertising a medical and research facility,
which was also created by me. Imploring this piece into my poster compilation
expressed life through the design of building creation. I feel as though I was
able to give life to a building and advertising scheme. Life is better with art
in it for one simple reason: we can create life through our own imagination and
desire.
It is in my understanding that the field of Graphic design is not an easy area to pursue. There will be many dedicated hours of hard work and processing involved with the creations and concepts I will be presented. The desire that I hold deep within has always been to involve myself with art; Graphic Design is where my heart lives. Through many years of persistence and dedication with my art studies, I have come to realize that Graphic Design is what shows my talent most profoundly. Design comes naturally to me; Most importantly, Graphic Design is what I love to do. Many times I have pictured myself creating beautiful art for all people to view. With my continued education in this field, I feel that my dreams will come true. Design and art are glorious elements of our modern world that people need to view. Without the flashy designs, art galleries, and catchy logos on familiar merchandize, life today would seem monotonous and drab. My goal in becoming a Graphic Designer would allow me to reach out and excite peoples' imaginations, by piquing their interests with my quirky and unique styles of design. Ideas are popping from every ounce of my imagination. The possibilities are endless; one idea leads to another. Through Graphic Design my flowing imagination will pour out the ideas and designs that will join art and life. Simply, I have a passion for art; nothing can take me away from my passion to create my artwork. |
