Tamara Pavlock Hired as New Graphic Design Academic Director

Tamara L. Pavlock is the new Graphic Design Academic Department Director at The Art Institute of California — Sacramento.

As Graphic Design Academic Department Director, Pavlock manages the Graphic Design program, department branding and creative, and the AIGA student group at The Art Institute of California — Sacramento, with supervision and oversight provided by the Dean of Academic Affairs.

Pavlock holds an M.E. in Educational Leadership of Instructional Higher Education from Argosy University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from Kent State University. She spent four summers as an artist working inside amusement parks such as Cedar Point and Sea World of Ohio, Florida and California, drawing caricatures and portraits.

For the past 18 years, she has gained knowledge and experience in all areas of communication arts, including creative processes of graphic arts, advertising, and print management. She has been an Art Director, Creative Services Manager, Print Consultant, and Designer for such clients as Ashley Furniture, Audi, Avnet, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cellular One, Club Corporation of America, Dell Web, Hilton Hotels Corporation, Intertel, JW Marriott, Krylon, Loctite International, MIS Group, Orthologic, Rockford Phosgate, Sanctuary Resort and Spa, SKYY Vodka, Westin, and Wynn Las Vegas. Prior to her position at The Art Institute of California — Sacramento, Pavlock was an adjunct Graphic Design instructor at The Art Institute of Phoenix.
 
Pavlock is a member of AIGA and volunteered her time as a board member for six years and two years as President of AIGA Arizona, the professional association of design founded in 1914. She has judged many design competitions and served on the advisory committees at Collins College of Design and Southwest Graphics magazine.
