Josef Pietrasz Hired as Director of Admissions for the Newly Established Art Institute of California - Sacramento

(SACRAMENTO, Calif. – August 27, 2007) – Today, The Art Institutes announced that Josef Pietrasz has been named Director of Admissions for the newly established Art Institute of California – Sacramento. Pietrasz has been a member of the Art Institutes team since 2005 when he became the Assistant Director of Admissions for The Art Institute of Vancouver.
At The Art Institute of Vancouver, Pietrasz quickly moved up the ladder and took on the role of Associate Director of Admissions. In that capacity, he was responsible for planning and organizing events, hiring and training new assistant directors of admission, and conducting all recruitment activities in accordance with provincial and federal accreditation and Art Institute policies and regulations, and more.
With its first day of class slated for October 1, 2007, The Art Institute of California – Sacramento will occupy approximately 35,000 square feet at 2850 Gateway Oaks Drive in Sacramento. The school will begin enrolling students immediately and will initially offer bachelor’s degree programs in Culinary Management, Digital Filmmaking & Video Production, Graphic Design, Interior Design and Web Design & Interactive Media (formerly Interactive Media Design); and associate’s degree programs in Culinary Arts, Graphic Design and Web Design & Interactive Media (formerly Interactive Media Design).
“I am thrilled to have been chosen as director of admissions for The Art Institutes’ new campus in Sacramento,” said Josef Pietrasz. “I look forward to helping establish The Art Institute of California – Sacramento as the premier creative arts educational authority in the area and will utilize my experience to pursue the most qualified candidates for enrollment and to ensure that these new students make a smooth transition in to their respective areas of study.”
Pietrasz holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Simon Fraser University in British Columbia and is currently working on his Master of Business Administration at Argosy University.
The school will join six existing Art Institutes schools in California, with locations in San Francisco (The Art Institute of California – San Francisco); Los Angeles (The Art Institute of California – Los Angeles and California Design College); Santa Ana (The Art Institute of California – Orange County); San Bernardino (The Art Institute of California – Inland Empire); and San Diego (The Art Institute of California – San Diego).
