Campus to Kick Off Walking Tour of The Windows Design Project

2/9/2012

Return to Our Main Events Page the-windows-san-francisco

What:
The Windows endeavors to transform central Market Street storefronts into beautiful and memorable window displays that will invigorate downtown pedestrian traffic, promote public art, and showcase the vibrant creativity of the Bay Area design community. Each display will be created by a local leading architecture and design firm and inspired by a piece of artwork and story created by a child living at Raphael House – a temporary home for families in crisis.

The Art Institute of California— San Francisco invites the public to pick up a free map of the route and to start their tour of The Windows at the 10 UN Plaza campus building.

When:
Thursday, February 9, 2012
5:30 – 6:15PM

Where:
The Art Institute of California— San Francisco
1170 Market Street
San Francisco, CA 94102

Cost:
No charge for walking tour starting at The Art Institute of California— San Francisco. The Windows participants also join the Raphael House in its effort to renovate their facility with portions of the Feb. 9 Reveal Party fundraiser ticket sales.

Who:
Event partners include The Northern California Chapter of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA), Raphael House, the San Francisco Arts Commission, and the International Museum of Art of America. Leading local architecture firms and design teams include Gensler, HOK, Studio O+A, SFMOMA, Destination Art and more.
