Faculty Creates Exquisite Sculptures and Exemplifies “Craft as a Verb”

Return to Our Main News Page

In the January 2012 issue of American Craft magazine, the article “Craft as a Verb” explores how curators and artists have recently focused on craft as an action or performance. One of the artists mentioned is our very own faculty member Mung Lar Lam, instructor in the Fashion Marketing & Management program at The Art Institute of California — San Francisco.

Her performance, Ironings, is described as a creation of “exquisite geometric relief sculptures with an iron, steam, and starch from monochromatic cotton yardage.”
