This year's student fashion show, "The Fashion Line Up" which took place on Saturday, June 18, was a smashing success and the faculty and staff at The Art Institute of California – San Francisco would like to thank everyone who made it possible. It was an unforgettable evening and we are so proud of all our students. This year's show focused on the creative interpretation of designers who break traditional laws of fashion in order to custom design their own rules. The Art Institute of California – San Francisco was fortunate to have three fashion industry luminaries judge the students' designs. They were: locally-based designer, Bacca da Silva; Angela Medlin who designs for North Face; and Joseph Domingo, a San Francisco-based clothing designer.
This year's top honor for Overall Effect was awarded to Cameron Stewart for his unique and fashion-forward menswear collection. Cameron earned a $2,000 tuition scholarship. For Creativity/Design, the winner was Autie Carlisle. Under the category of Construction, the winner was Dallas Coulter. Autie and Dallas each earned a $1,000 tuition scholarship. The show, which is the hallmark of the school's Fashion Design and Fashion Marketing & Management Departments, was produced entirely by the students with guidance from Bo Breda and Angella Hoffman, the departments’ directors respectively.
Known as the largest student-produced show in the West Coast, the evening drew a crowd of more than 1,000 attendees and was covered by various media outlets such as stylewylde.com, Couture Magazine and Scene Magazine. We should all be proud of our students, faculty and staff who worked so hard to make the evening truly magical.
