Summary:   Responsible for the placement of students with advanced standing to ensure their timely enrollment in classes, contributing to student success. This position will take the lead with the academic departments in working directly with faculty and administration in addressing transfer concerns and issues, oversees course equivalency in order to build a database of equivalent coursework, and supports orientation and registration programs for transfer students. Specifically, the Transfer Credit Coordinator is responsible for all transfer credit records and advanced standing requests. Incumbent must assure that the EDMC philosophy: quality services to clients; development, growth, involvement, and recognition of employees; sound economic principles; and environment which is conducive to innovation, positive thinking and expansion - is considered in carrying out the duties and responsibilities of this position.

Key Job Elements:
1. Processes transfer of credit paperwork daily to achieve turnaround targets set by the Executive Committee.
2. Confers with Academic Directors, Department Chairs, and Faculty to ascertain that correct credit is given for program-specific courses.
3. Records transfer of credit in student’s permanent record for use by all departments. Communicates same to all departments
4. Maintains and distributes log of transfer of credit packages showing date received, student’s name, ID number, date returned to Admissions, and any additional relevant comments.
5. Files all completed transfer of credit evaluations in the student’s permanent record.
6. Participates in Institute persistence efforts.
7. Creates and enforces, with approval from the appropriate leadership, systems, procedures, and processes to ensure educational consistency in a learner-centered environment.
8. Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
1. Knowledge:
a) Bachelor’s Degree required with a Master’s Degree preferred.
b) 3-5 years of related experience working in a post-secondary institution.

2. Skills:
a) Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
b) Strong interpersonal skills with both faculty, staff, and student populations.
c) Superior organizational skills
d) Strong computer and analytical skills.

3. Abilities:
a) Work effectively either independently or as a team member to ensure that departmental goals are met.
b) Ability to understand, interpret, and communicate local, state, and federal policies as they relate to advanced standing credit.
c) Ability to prioritize work and perform well under pressure.
d) Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
e) Ability to comply with requirements with respect to maintaining appropriate accrediting criteria and requirements for students and/or records.
