THE ART INSTITUTE OF CALIFORNIA - SAN DIEGO MAKES A SPLASH IN CELEBRATING THE GRAND OPENING OF NEW BUILDING!

SAN DIEGO, AUGUST 15, 2008 –The Art Institute of California – San Diego announces its expansion with a Grand Opening Celebration and traditional paint splashing ceremony on Friday, August 22, from 6:30-7:30pm. Guests of The Art Institute will get an opportunity to tour the new building and enjoy an elegant evening with special guest H.G. Fenton President, Mike Neal, and President of The Art Institute of California – San Diego, Liz Erickson.

The Art Institute, a design, media arts, fashion, and culinary arts school serving the greater San Diego County community, now occupies the two-story building located at 7675 Mission Valley Road. The space was developed by H.G. Fenton Company in 2004 – one of several build-to-suit and multi-tenant buildings master-planned and developed by the company as part of its 1-million-square-foot Mission Valley Heights business park. The new addition opened for classes during the spring 2008 quarter which brought the campus to just over 100,000 square feet.

The Art Institute moved into a 75,000-square-foot build-to-suit at 7650 Mission Valley Road in 2002. The impressive and innovative facility centralized The Art Institute's San Diego campus, making it more accessible for students from throughout the county to take advantage of its leading-edge postsecondary education programs.

"We are committed to meeting the needs of our tenants by providing quality work environments in key locations throughout San Diego County," said Kevin Hill, vice president of leasing with H.G. Fenton Company. "We value The Art Institute's tenancy and are delighted to be able to accommodate the school's growing space needs."

"The Art Institute of California – San Diego has valued our partnership with H.G. Fenton Company over the years," said Elizabeth Erickson, president of The Art Institute of California – San Diego. "Together we have been able to provide Art Institute students with an exceptional creative learning environment. We are thrilled to embark on this important milestone and look forward to continued growth."

The Art Institute of California – San Diego is one of The Art Institutes (www.artinstitutes.edu), a system of over 40 education institutions throughout North America, providing an important source of design, media arts, fashion and culinary arts professionals.
