Moving forward, The Art Institute of California – San Francisco will collaborate with Access SF on this same course model during the winter and spring 2008 quarters, with an eye towards sustaining the partnership in ways that will benefit both parties.

"We are thrilled to be working with Access SF, an award winning local cable station and the San Francisco Community Television Corporation known as Access SF, with a 20-year nonprofit track record in San Francisco." said Lexi Leban, Academic Director of The Art Institute’s Digital Filmmaking & Video Production. Leban added, "The Art Institute of California – San Francisco is committed to offering real-world training opportunities that are applicable in the current market place, and the hands-on aspects of this particular collaboration will provide students with a dynamic learning environment that supports both career development and creative expression."

Access SF’s extensive facility and equipment resources will bring significant value to the partnership endeavor in the months and years ahead.

According to Zane Blaney, Access SF’s Executive Director, “Cable access television stations in other large cities such as Boston, Chicago and Minneapolis have managed to build successful partnerships with institutions of higher education. With this endeavor, Access SF reaches an important milestone in its 20 year history by joining a prestigious and select group of community-based stations around the nation.”
