Animation Fest 2009 The 3rd Annual Animation Festival Art Institute of California — San Francisco

Sponsored by Stash Media, this year’s Animation Festival will feature Stash’s Best of 2008 Collection of animation, motion graphics and visual effects as well as original short films produced by The Art Institute of California-San Francisco Master of Fine Arts and undergraduate students.

[SAN FRANCISCO, APRIL, 2009] – Animation Fest 2009 will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at 3pm at the Roxie Theater (3117 16th Street, San Francisco, CA). This year’s line-up of films is more exciting than ever and includes 50 minutes of the most innovative and influential short films, music videos, commercials and motion graphics from Stash Media. Stash Media is known as the authority of what is cutting edge in animation and motion graphics.

Animation Fest 2009 will also feature original short films created by students graduating from The Art Institute of California-San Francisco Master of Fine Arts in Computer Animation program. Graduate students will be on hand to answer questions from the audience.

Graduate films include: Zachary Ruef's "One Seed"; Mark Riehl's "Tsuribari"; David Gantz's "Bird Brain”; and David Feng's “Palus Somnii".

Also included in the program are experimental undergraduate projects that push the boundaries of animation technique and art.

“This will be an inspiring overload of the best animation out there that will dazzle your retinas and supercharge your brain” says Master of Fine Arts in Computer Animation and Bachelor of Science in Media Arts & Animation Academic Director Jill Taffet.

Animation Fest 2009 is free to students, faculty and school staff with a valid school I.D. and a $5 charge at the door to non-students. The event gives the public an opportunity to view experimental animation and ground-breaking short films from students at The Art Institute of California — San Francisco.
