Art Institute Student Wins Apple’s WWDC Scholarship
Jeremy Le Van, a Web Design & Interactive Media student at The Art Institute of California – San Francisco, was chosen among thousands of entrants for a scholarship to attend Apple’s annual Worldwide Developer’s Conference
[SAN FRANCISCO, CA, MAY 2009] – Art Institute of California – San Francisco student, Jeremy Le Van, was among a select amount of college students who earned the scholarship to attend the Apple Worldwide Developer’s Conference in San Francisco this June 8 – June 12.
Jeremy, along with the other winners, will be admitted to the keynote speech, conference sessions, labs, and special events during the week. Jeremy will also be admitted to the WWDC Student Scholarship Program Welcome Session on Sunday, June 7 as well as the Career Fair on Tuesday, June 9.
“Our program is about emerging technologies and how the designer’s creativity can take these opportunities to the next level,” said Micheal Swank, Academic Director for Web Design & Interactive Media. “Jeremy really took advantage of our being the first to offer iPhone application development courses on a college campus. His work exemplifies the real spirit of our Web Design and Interactive Media program at The Art Institute of California – San Francisco.”
Jeremy first learned about the Apple Worldwide Developer Conference in his iPhone application/SDK development class last quarter and immediately applied.
“This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” Jeremy says. “I’m so excited to attend WWDC and to represent The Art Institute of California – San Francisco.”
This opportunity provides Jeremy with the chance to interact and network with Apple engineers and developers. Jeremy will also be able to have some of his work critiqued by industry professionals and meet with potential employers. WWDC draws over 6,000 attendees over the course of the event.
