The Illinois Institute of Art - Schaumburg Offers Condolences to Northern Illinois University

The faculty, staff and students at The Illinois Institute of Art – Schaumburg are deeply saddened by the unthinkable tragedy that occurred at Northern Illinois University yesterday. Some at our school have personal and/or professional ties to Northern Illinois University and we must lean on our strong school community to carry us through.

We are holding Town Hall meetings for all members of The Illinois Institute of Art – Schaumburg community, and counseling staff will be on hand as needed to help students cope with this senseless act. School-wide, we are also planning on showing our support of Northern Illinois University and honor the memory of those lost by wearing black and red clothing and ribbons on Monday.

The victims, their friends and families, and those deeply affected by the shooting will continue to be in our thoughts during this difficult time. We offer our support to Northern Illinois University in any way possible during this time of recovery and hope for the health, safety and peace for all affected.
