Judges Selected for ARTimation Festival by The Illinois Institute of Art - Schaumburg

The Illinois Institute of Art – Schaumburg is honored to name the industry professionals set to judge this year’s student work at ARTimation, the annual digital arts festival held by the college. Open to the public at no charge, the 10th anniversary of ARTimation will be held at the Barrington AMC 30 Theatre on October 28 and will be attended and juried by the following.

WALT DISNEY TELEVISION ANIMATION ● Conrad Montgomery ● Coordinator ● Montgomery works on current shows such as The Replacements, Yin! Yang! Yo! and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse while developing new projects for Disney Channel and Disney XD.  

ROCKSTAR GAMES ● Joshua Bass ● Art Department Director ● Joshua Bass has worked in the games industry for 12 years.  To date he has shipped 13 games on 9 platforms and is currently working on his 14th and 15th titles Max Payne 3 and Red Dead Redemption.

DIGITAL DOMAIN ● Jack Kasprzak ● Digital Artist/Animator ● Kasprzak, alum of The Illinois Institute of Art - Schaumburg, has worked on such films as Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor and Tron: Legacy.

DIGITAL KITCHEN ● Jason Esser ● Creative ● The Illinois Institute of Art – Schaumburg alum Esser began work at Digital Kitchen immediately following graduation, where he contributed to the Sundance Film Festival branding, the True Blood, Hung, and The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien title sequences, as well various commercial campaigns.

ARC WORLDWIDE/LEO BURNETT USA ● Chad Mirshak ● Manager of Creative Technology ● Mirshak has a decade of experience in the media and design industry, and ten titles for Playstation 2, Gamecube, Wii and Xbox under his belt. He has also worked on projects for E*Trade, Motorola and Navistar International, which earned an Emmy. Mirshak currently leads Flash developers for Altria. 

TECHNICOLOR INTERACTIVE & ANIMATION SERVICES ● Nellie Tehrani ● Associate Producer/Recruiter ● Tehrani has been working within the animation and game industries for over ten years, starting her career as the associate editor for Animation Magazine. Tehrani currently hires full teams for productions and also produces games herself.

AREA 51 ● Glenn Campbell ● Visual Effects Supervisor ● A few of Campbell’s many film credits include Star Trek, Blade Runner, Gremlins, Spaceballs, City Slickers, Johnny Mnemonic, and Dick Tracy.  His television credits include Knight Rider, Galactica, X-Files, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Dark Skies and the Dune mini-series, which earned an Emmy.

BUDDHA JONES TRAILERS ● Dan Asma ● Partner ● Asma produces and edits trailers and TV spots for major studios such as Universal, Warner Bros and Paramount. He was a 2009 Key Art Award nominee for his editorial work on the Tropic Thunder trailer, as well as produced the 2009 Key Art Award winning trailer and television campaign for The Strangers.

CULTURE22 ● Alan Hughes ● Principal/Director of Creative Strategies ● A founder of the agency, Hughes leads the culture22’s creative and development process, including the recent high-end, HD entertainment “spectaculars” that can be seen nationwide, including Times Square and Las Vegas.

MK2 DEVELOPMENT ● Aaron Salmon ● Director of Design and Usability ● Salmon uses more than 10 years of experience to create beautiful hand-crafted websites and innovative applications.
