ANNA WODECKI AND CAROL ZACK EXHIBITION ON DISPLAY AT RUTH RAY MEMORIAL GALLERY
[Schaumburg, July 30, 2008] – The Ruth Ray Memorial Gallery at The Illinois Institute of Art – Schaumburg will present the work of faculty members Anna Wodecki and Carol Zack through September 5, 2008. The gallery is open to the public at no charge Monday – Thursday 8 a.m. – 8 p.m., Fridays 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., and Saturdays 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Anna Wodecki currently teaches Graphic Design at The Illinois Institute of Art – Schaumburg. In 2005, Wodecki was the illustrator and designer for the children’s book “How Would it Feel?” and, in 2007, published “Minutka, The Bilingual Dog” which has been translated into six languages. The book’s sequel, “Minutka, The Bilingual Dog and Friends”, will be in bookstores throughout the United States and Great Britain before Christmas of 2008. Wodecki is also working on an advertising campaign for a Japanese jewelry designer as well as putting together a series of photographs depicting her recent trip home to Poland.
Wodecki’s work has been exhibited at the Agora Gallery in Soho, Gallery Ten, Rockford Art Museum, Lundeen Art Gallery, Weis-Morris Gallery, and galleries worldwide in Warsaw, Stockholm, Wallsee, and Paris.
Carol Zack currently teaches Fashion Marketing and Management at The Illinois Institute of Art – Schaumburg. As a painter, Zack has followed in the tradition of impressionist artists with their spontaneous use of color and direct application of pigment. While light, color, and energy are strong elements communicated in Zack’s work, she also imposes classic structure, pattern, and composition into her final pieces.
Zack’s work has been exhibited at The Paramount Theatre, Alfons Gallery, Norris Gallery, The Fine Line Creative Arts Center, Campbell House Gallery, The Krannert Museum at The University of Illinois in Champaign, Peabody Gallery in Nashville, and several other locations.
