TO CREATIVITY AND BEYOND

Here's (almost) everything you ever wanted to know about entry requirements, tuition, what our catalog has to say, and even more.

Admissions
art and design school student

Our admissions process isn't just about forms and numbers and what you did in high school. It's about you, the individual. Yes, we look at your academic background and work. But we also take the time to sit down and find out what's important to you. We help you assess your career possibilities...what holds the most promise, what's realistic, and what isn't. Together we will define your goals and professional objectives.

Admissions Decisions
Admissions decisions are made by the Admissions Committee, which comprises members of the college's faculty and staff. The committee determines whether an applicant has a reasonable chance to be successful, based upon his or her academic record, essay and the appropriateness of the applicant's stated career goals as they relate to the chosen program of study. The committee may request additional information or require the applicant to meet with an academic director prior to making a final decision. The committee meets weekly and admissions decisions are usually communicated to the applicant within two weeks.

Student Body
Students come to The Art Institute from all over the world. The student body comprises men and women who have enrolled directly after completing high school, have transferred from colleges and universities, or have left employment situations to prepare for a new career. Our Fall 2008 student body consisted of approximately 2,250 students representing more than 45 states and more than 27 countries.
